Peppermint Christmas Shots - Festive, Fun, and Refreshing

Prep Time 10 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes
Servings: 8 servings

Ingredients

  • Vanilla vodka (or regular vodka)
  • Peppermint schnapps (or crème de menthe for a slightly sweeter, greener option)
  • White chocolate liqueur (such as Godiva or Mozart), or Irish cream for a different twist
  • Half-and-half or heavy cream (for a richer, creamier texture)
  • Crushed candy canes (for rims and garnish)
  • Simple syrup or honey (to help the candy stick to the rims)
  • Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
  • Red sugar sprinkles (optional, for extra sparkle)
  • Ice (for shaking)

Method

  1. Prep the glasses: Add crushed candy canes to a small plate. Lightly dip the rims of your shot glasses in simple syrup or a swipe of honey, then dip into the crushed candy to coat. Set aside.
  2. Fill the shaker: Add ice to a cocktail shaker until it’s half full.
  3. Measure the spirits: Pour in 1 ounce vanilla vodka, 1 ounce peppermint schnapps, and 1 ounce white chocolate liqueur per two shots. Add 1–2 ounces half-and-half, depending on how creamy you want it.
  4. Shake well: Seal and shake for 10–15 seconds until the shaker feels frosty. This chills and slightly aerates the mix for a silky texture.
  5. Strain and pour: Strain into the prepared shot glasses. Aim for a smooth, even pour that doesn’t disturb the candy rim.
  6. Garnish: Top with a small swirl of whipped cream, a pinch of crushed candy cane, and a sprinkle of red sugar if desired.
  7. Serve immediately: These taste best cold and freshly poured.
